Daniel was a patient and caring father; always sharing – and often doing more than his share, of bringing up a child and when Ingrid decided to do a degree he took on the role of house husband – little knowing then that ‘a full time course’ was going to mean all day and half the night. But he was very supportive throughout the course, enduring all her stress without complaint. Though he did insist on a holiday afterwards….. and found a very cheap flight to La Gomera – the condition of the fare being to stay for 5 weeks.

His caring also extended outside the family - getting involved with SOS Sahel, and always having time to talk to homeless people sleeping rough on the street. His other favourite charity was Médcins Sans Frontières.
